JULY, 2009:
Gilat Satcom participated in WIRELESS BROADBAND AFRICA conference in Capetown, South Africa. The forum brought together the key players in the industry to discuss the future of wireless technology. Shai Yaniv, Gilat Satcom Marketing Director participated in the panel: New Vision for African Connectivity.
JUNE, 2009:
Gilat Satcom participated in WAFRITEL 2009 in Lagos, Nigeria. We had an impressive booth, in which we welcomed our business associates and launched new promotions. I t was great meeting so many of our partners and discussing the rapid developments in the telecommunication field in Africa. We met many potential clients, some of which we have already engaged with in business.

The Liberian Ministry of State has renewed its contract with Gilat Satcom and NAS Global Liberia. According to this contract, Gilat Satcom will supply Internet connectivity to the governmental network.
The Ministry utilizes the connection for many users including the office of the president of Liberia, Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Mr. Rint elaborated on Gilat Satcom's growing commitment to the Nigerian market, the rich portfolio of the company and its growing involvement in e-government projects in the region.

In order to get prepared to the new e-government system of Plateau state, the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs have organized a one-day workshop for staff of the 17 council areas.

JUNE, 2008:
Gilat Satcom Certified Resellers Training in Ghana
Our technical teams have conducted successful theoretical and practical sessions in Ghana during the second week of June. 26 trainees were granted with certifications of VSAT training and are now qualified to carry out installations, activations and tier 1 support.
Lior Lavy, ICT & Telecom Manager, Dizengoff, whose teams took part in the training, wrote:
"…I wish to express my gratitude for the wonderful training held in Ghana by Yaniv Tal and Ofer. The training solved a big problem we had in Ghana of professional installers – now we have 20+ competent installers that can easily install and commission a VSAT system. The training was very professional and was held in very high standards, Gilat team clearly knew what they were doing. Thanks, and see you again soon."

The exhibition took place in Lagos, Nigeria during the beginning of June. Gilat-Satcom was present with an impressive stand to welcome our business associates and to launch our new promotions.
It was good to meet so many of our partners in the booth, and to discuss the rapid developments in the telecommunication field in Africa. We have met a lot of potential clients, some of whom, we have already started cooperation with.
